Preliminary task

My front cover consists of around 8 layers. The picture is the background and was taken in music, the close up of the amplifier is effective for the drum and bass type of magazine. The title" Amplify" I came up with after several hours of thinking and is displayed in a bold yellow font. (U.S Dallas) I believe the yellow titles goes well with the yellow on the speakers. I added the drum and bass awards logo and a barcode to add authenticity to the magazine and 2 sub headings. I believe after the troubles i have had with photoshop, blogger, memory issues and the school system that my end product is good and i am pleased with the outcome.

My contents page, I added a black background so the text I added stands out against it. I carried on using the same font, (U.S Dallas) I added a bold title over the top of the speaker which i edited in photoshop. I added my text including page numbers etc. and changed the font to white so it stands out. I finally fanned it out so it gave it a good look. I believe my contents page is basic yet effective.

This is my double page spread. I used the same font (U.S Dallas) throughout my magazine. I picked to use the colour yellow for my font because it matches the yellow within speakers. I added sub headings in the same font but in the colour white to help the text stand out on the black background which i believe makes the magazine look more authentic. I took the picture in the music department, this is good because you can see the speakers, mixer and computers which adds to the authenticity and makes it look like i am mixing. I wrote 4 paragraphs about the program cubase which is a genuine program and is used by artists to mix and remix songs. Finally i added a the drum and bass awards 2010 to the bottom because it adds to authenticity.

I have created my basic contents template by using the same features as my front cover. I used the same colours as the the front cover but invented them so they appear the other way up. The font is the same, but slightly different but stand out well against the background due to the white background. 
I need to include some snazzy graffiti righting for the page titles and names when i continue to edit my contents paige, this will make it look better and hopefully up my grade for the finished product.
